Renea Eshleman

Watercolor painting: Dumb luck that a neighbor taught classes in a local art store in Spartanburg; cheap entry (water, paint (three colors), paper, brushes (three)). How easy is that?

Subjects: Many subjects (animals, landscapes, florals, portraits); specializes in commissioned projects that embody the owner's tastes, colors, and subjects; works primarily from her own photography; representational to abstract.

Classes with: Ben Kiger (1984), Anna Kay Singley, Tommy Thompson, and Anne Hightower- Patterson in Columbia; SC Watermedia Society painting workshops with Linda Moyer (1997) and with Serge Hollerback (2000); Anne Barkeley (2007, 2008), Tony Couch (2010).

Other media: Custom jewelry, often inspired by fabrics - somewhat funky designs, but also classic.

Childhood influences: Mother, crafts with friends and Girl Scouts, school art classes.
