Verlie has been involved in art since early childhood, studying art and winning awards through her school years in Ct. Starting early in her career as an apprentice designer of drapery and upholstery material her primary interest lies in color and design. She is a working artist in the medium of acrylics, watercolor, pencil, collage and doing original designs on ceramics. Verlie enjoys working on all subject matter. She especially enjoys doing still-lifes from the vegetables and fruits from her home gardens and scenes from familiar places and of travels. Her paintings and ceramics are in collections throughout the U.S. and she has won regional art awards. Verlie has studied with Ed Yahjian at the Columbia Museum School, Campbell Frost, and workshops with Eva Carter, Judy Jarrett, Anna Kay Singley and Illona Smith Roykin. She is a member of the Trenholm Artists Guild and the S. C. Watercolor Society.
