Sonia Tuttle

Sonia Tuttle moved to the area from Upstate New York in 1985. Sonia has always enjoyed any and all artistic endeavors. She began painting 2001, in acrylic, oil, watercolor and pencil.

In 2003, after retiring from the University of South Carolina, her main interests turned to watercolor and she began studying under Carol Ann Rose, Ann Hightower Patterson, and Ester Melton, in addition to attending various watercolor workshops.

In 2009 Sonia received a Fine Art Merit Award from the SC State Fair for her watercolor painting titled “High and Dry”. She has also exhibited decorative painting works in several mediums at previous SC State Fairs winning numerous awards including “Best of Show” in watercolor in 2006.

Painting is her passion and she devotes time each day to learning all she can so her next painting will be better than her last. Her style is mostly in realism and she hopes you will enjoy her work.
