Snapshots from our

April 10, 2006 meeting.

Guest Presenter - Guy Lipscomb

Mr. Lipscomb has had two major stylistic trends in his career - his earlier work in watercolor and his later, more abstract work in acrylics. A resident of Columbia, Mr. Lipscomb has taught painting workshops across the United States and Canada, and his book, "Go With the Flow" has become a staple in watercolor instruction classes. He is a co-founder of the South Carolina Watercolor Society and Springmaid Workshops. A long-time supporter of the Columbia Museum of Art, Mr. Lipscomb served as the Columbia Museum of Art's board of trustees president from 1971 to 1973.  Mr. Lipscomb was inducted into the American Watercolor Society in the summer of 2004.  For more information about Guy, click here.  Mr. Lipscomb's presentation was delightful!  With humor and examples from his work, Guy presented a slide show about the importance of design in creating artwork whether it be in watercolor, acrylic or oil.
