Martha Thomas and Kirkland Smith are mother and daughter artists who are classically trained.  Martha, originally from Charleston, has been painting commissioned portraits for 20 years.  Her portraits sing with vibrant color.  Daughter Kirkland, who is also the wife of State Representative James Smith, is also an accomplished artist who studied in France this past summer.
