One of eight children, Howard Hunt learned the value of creative thinking early in life. He was born in Atlanta, GA where his appreciation for nature developed while camping, rafting and hiking in the North Georgia Mountains. Then he moved with his family to Potomac, ND as a teenager, and later enrolled at the University of South Carolina where he received his bachelor degree in Liberal Arts. Howard studied many art forms at USC, but photography and painting have alwasys kept his interest.
After college Howard's attention was taken away from traditional art and focused on the creative challenges of business. Some of his businesses have inclded a shipping company, created his own line of greeting cards and a home renovation business where his artistic creativity and eye for details haelped set him apart from his competition.
Acting on new ideas is what drives Howard Hunt. He returned to taking photographs in the 1990s when he had an opportuntity to cultivate another love - the love of travel. Whether he's headed to France, Costa Rica, the mountains or tjust taking a kayak trip down the Saluda River, Howard's excitement for finding a stimulating image to capture on canvas or on film remains the same. His art has been accepted in locally and nationally recognized juror art shows. Also, his work has been added into private and commercial permanent collections. He has found great joy in sharing what is meaningful to him , and only hopes his work can spark a new idea in you.
