TAG 2026 Spring Juried Exhibit
March Spring Show at Best Mattress:
Entry fee is $30 cash or check to be paid at take-in for (1) entry (either 2d- or 3-d). Entries are limited to one per member, 2d or 3d. All artwork must be original (no reproduction of your work or others), not created in a workshop, and completed after January 1, 2023.
•Tuesday, February 24, 4-6 PM: Take-down of current exhibit and deliver show artwork to Best Mattress
• Friday, March 6, 5-6:30 PM: Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony
• Tuesday, April 28, 4-6 PM: Pick-up art and deliver art for the next rotation
February Meeting
Please join us at Kilbourne Park Baptist Church at 6 PM for fellowship, followed by brief business at 6:30pm and then our feature program by artist Marius Valdes. Marius Valdes is an artist currently based in Columbia, South Carolina. He is a Professor in Studio Art concentrating on Design and Illustration at The University of South Carolina. He lives in Forest Acres, South Carolina with his wife Beth, daughter Emma, and very lazy but adorable dog, Mary.
Professor Marius Valdes teaches design and illustration at The University of South Carolina. Valdes received his BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia and his MFA in Visual Communication from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005.
Valdes' work has been featured in several books about contemporary graphic design and illustration.
January Meeting
Please join us at CITY ART, 1224 Lincoln Street in the Vista, at 6 PM for fellowship, followed by brief business at 6:30pm and then our feature program by artist Craig Houston. Craig’s paintings are the product of his education at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Floriday in Commercial Illustration and Advertising. He has served as the superintendent of Fine Arts for the SC State Fair for several years, and has been instrumental in development of the history of Columbia’s First Baptist Church.

Deadline for entry: November 1
Send an image to mshelburg@aol.com: The image you submit is a sample of your work, not necessarily the piece you plan to enter but you MUST submit a sample to qualify as an accepted artist. If entry numbers are not sufficient to fill the space, we will issue notification for second pieces.
Official notification of show acceptance: November 15.
December 1. Information about each entry for the show must be sent to mshelburg@aol.com and include for each piece: title, medium, artist’s name, phone number, and price. This information will be used to create wall display cards.
Take-in Tuesday, December 9, 11 AM – 1 PM
Entry fee $30, to be paid in cash or check at take-in; $10 for second piece if allowed.
