Edward Shmunes has been making art for fifty years, primarily photography but more recently mixed media work. During this period, he has received 138 awards from among 41 international, 37 national, and 146 regional juried art exhibitions.

Ed is a self-taught photographer. He said he feels it is his challenge to achieve a fresh and engaging approach to any material. His work often ends up feeling slightly surreal. Photography is his play. He often uses photo editing software to adjust and combine images.
